Asian and Pacific Islander Community Development, Commission on
Purpose
To advise the Mayor and advocate for the interests of the Asian and Pacific Islander communities in the District. Advise on government policies and programs; advise and assist in developing mechanism and structures in government to respond to the communities' needs; serve as liaison to private organizations in the communities; promote public awareness of government programs; issue annual report. At least 15 members appointed by the Mayor. Members must be DC residents and reflect the demographic, geographic and ethnic diversity of the communities. The Mayor appoints one member as chairperson and may appoint government representatives.
