State Rehabilitation Council
To act in an advisory capacity to the Administrator of the Rehabilitation Services Administration on the provision of vocational rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities in the District of Columbia. Advise the Administrator on the extent, scope, and effectiveness of services provided; advise the Rehabilitation Services Administration on the functions that affect or potentially affect the ability of individuals with disabilities in achieving their rehabilitation goals and objectives under Title I of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended; provide advice to the Rehabilitation Services Administration on the State Plan, the strategic plan, and amendments to the plans, reports, needs assessments, and evaluations.
At least 25 members, including: individuals with disabilities; parents, family members, and guardians of individuals with disabilities; advocates of and for persons with disabilities; and at least one representative from each not employed by any District Government agency or center for independent living.
