Recreational Trails Advisory Committee

Purpose

To advise the Mayor on trail planning and allocating funds for trail improvement projects from funding allocations made by the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) National Recreational Trail Fund Act. Review utilization of allocated monies by states; establish and review criteria for trail-side and trail-head facilities that qualify for funding under this part; and present to the Mayor an annual report on its activities. Seven members including chairperson and vice-chairperson who shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. They are recommended by recreational trail user organizations, one each representing hiking, off-highway motorcycling, and bicycling.
