Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (ABC Board)
To enforce and implement the DC Alcoholic Beverage Control Act. Control manufacture, sale, offering for sale, solicitation of orders for sale, importation, exportation and transportation of alcoholic beverages in DC, and the issuance, denial, transfer, suspension and revocation of license and permits. Members must file personal financial disclosure statements. Seven members appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council. All members must be US citizens and District residents for at least three years preceding appointment and can have claimed residence nowhere else during that period. Members may not be full-time employees of the DC government. The Mayor appoints one member as chairperson.
