Convention Center Advisory Committee
To advise the Convention Center Authority on any issues related to the building of the new Convention Center. Advise the Authority on the development of design guidelines ensuring the new center is consistent with the surrounding neighborhood and historic preservation; the needs of the community; parking issues, transportation issues; pedestrian movement issues, economic development spin-off opportunities; participation by local, small and disadvantaged businesses, and the development of environmental guidelines. Nineteen members, who should have expertise in architecture, urban design, economic development, planning, law, transportation, affirmative action, or local community issues. Three appointed by the Mayor from the community; one appointed by ANC 2F and one by ANC 2C-1 the Council Chair, Economic Development Committee Chair and Ward 2 Council member, or their representatives, two appointees each by the Council Chair and Economic Development Committee Chair; four appointed by Ward 2 Council members one representatives of the Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL--CIO.
